ScotlandsPeople answers personal questions just like yours for Registrations or Old Parish Records that cannot easily be read. They check the original and send you the correct data. Anyone can request assistance, some records received are totally illegible. The homepage for ScotlandsPeople has a CONTACT US link that you can use to write an eMail to them explaining that the record you received is either in error or unreadable. Of course, this could just be a mistake of the clerk in forgetting that the 10th was in the previous month. Make sure the 'and' is not Aug. and make sure the 10th is not the 1st. ScotlandsPeople will NEED to know the data for the particular search you did....meaning the DATE and TIMESTAMP for that search. Go to the homepage and log in. Even if you have not got an active session going, you can access the PREVIOUS SEARCHES tab for the search you did. Send them that data written by that search for the date and time, etc and they will do the rest. I've asked about 4 times for clarification and gotten it in a timely fashion, even if my session was ended. Good luck ! Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA.
