Dear Listers; Thanks to all for the help in locating the "Orchardton" farm. I did find it on Old-Maps.co.uk. It is listed as "Orchardtown" on the 1864 map. And I am sure it is the correct place as my great-great-grandparents, Archibald McIntyre and Margaret (Russell) McIntyre were in Mollinsburn 1856-1858; at Orchardtown, Kirkintilloch by 1860; in Kilsyth 1861; then on Drum Mains farm, Kirkintilloch by 1864 and at Ravenswood farm, Cumbernauld by 1866 and then back to Mollinsburn / Annathill by 1871. My great-grandfather, Archibald was born on Islay, Argyll where his father was a shepherd and Archibald was a ploughman / farm laborer until the 1871 census where he is listed as a quarrier.
