G'day, I am researching my ancestors from Scotland and am now positively back as far as:- William CALDER - Father Thomas CALDER, Mother Christina BLAIR, born 18 May 1831, Glasgow or Kirkintilloch, SCT; (the family were living in Kirkintilloch at the time of the 1841 and 1851 Census):immigrated 1852 to Ballarat, VIC, AUS; travelled between 11 Oct 1852 and Mar 1853 to Melbourne, VIC aboard the SIR WILLIAM MOLESWORTH which I understand was owned by the Christian and Temperance Emigration Society of Scotland. This man was my great great grandfather. Any information on the early family or the activities of the "society" keenly sought. Details of the family in Australia are available.
