Hi Everyone, I'm researching the surname ANDERSON. My gg grandfather William ANDERSON states on his marriage certificate that his parents were William ANDERSON and Catherine MC ALLUM. And that he was born in Dumbarton in 1840. I have checked the IGI to see if I could find a likely entry and the only entry that I could find is below. William ANDERSON born 18th Mar 1840 to parents William ANDERSON and Catherine KERR at Bonhill in Dunbartonshire. I suppose the only way to confirm that this is my William's entry would be to see if I can find a McAllum/Kerr marriage in the IGI. But as yet I have not had a chance to look.
