Dear list, From my notes, Maureen Kuzyk, ------------------------------------------------- 1851 census East (New) Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire? or Stirlingshire? film # 103670 This film supposedly contains some of the Dunbartonshire census. For New Kilpatrick, it starts labelled, East Kilpatrick, Stirling, Parish 500 and in other places, Parish 361. Some people say they are born East Kilpatrick, Stirlingshire and others say East Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire Looks as though it is in the process of moving from Stirlingshire to Dunbartonshire or vice versa? A couple of things I noticed when I was writing these notes : A lot of the people are Irish working in the cotton mills, the enumerator has the counties listed for birthplaces in (mostly Northern) Ireland, that would be a help if you had Irish ancestors.
