Hello fellow listers: I am posting this to several lists, in the hope that someone can help me over my brick wall. Seek ancestry of the following: DANIEL MACKAY/MCKAY, born possibly Cardross, Dunbartonshire, say around 1745-1755, married circa 1770, CHRISTIAN MACDONALD/MCDONALD. Known children, born in Cardross: 1. William, born 2 June 1772 2. Christian (female), born 12 April 1775 or 1783 3. Catherine/Katherine, born 24 December 1785; married 1807, Rev. James Thomson, and removed to New Brunswick where she died in 1857. According to family tradition, Daniel MacKay/McKay was described as a Scottish "laird", and was allegedly a descendant of Robert The Bruce (traditions being what they are, this possibility could also apply to his wife).
