Dear all I am looking for more proof in respect of the family of William Baine, a tailor, born on 12 July 1778 and shall be pleased for any help you can give me. I did build a family tree but think I may have lost some links. William lived in Greenock and married Isabel Kerr on 28 June 1811. They had children John born in 1816, William born in 1820, Walter born in 1827 and Jane born in 1829. I believe William Baine Snr was the son of Archibald Baine from Cardross (born 13 April 1740) and Margaret Baine from Cardross (born 1747) and that they married in Greenock on 16 January 1773. Her father was a James Baine born in 1704 in Bonhill and died in Cardross in 1756. Can anyone please confirm that I have the correct connections for the family please as I did find details of a different Archibald and Margaret marrying.
