Hi List, This is about my family and some details that have eluded me. William Fergus was born 1762 and married Margaret Marion Rochead before 1791. At least one child was born in Kirkintilloch. They were William b. 1791, Mary b. 1792, Marion b. Apr. 21, 1794, Andrew b. 1796, Margaret b. 1798 and Jean b. 1799. Marion Fergus, b. Kirkintilloch married Alexander McGhee Oct. 3, 1813 at Hamilton, Lanark. She had claimed that she was a descendent of a king of Scotland (I assume she meant Fergus) and that the Duke of Hamilton attended their wedding. Can anyone tell me why the Duke would have attended her wedding unless she was of some aristocratic line? Also, Rochead doesn't seem to be a common name in Scotland. What's the story there? Can anyone answer these questions or help me with family lines? Thanks, Patrick
