Hi, I'm new to the list, so I thought I'd post my Dunbartonshire interests. I have the HALL family living in Cumbernauld in the 1800s: William HALL (born Glasgow about 1807) married Jean YOUNG (born Cumbernauld about 1810, daughter of James YOUNG and Margaret MUNGAL) in Cumbernauld on 3rd September 1828. At the 1841 census, they lived at Miltonneuk near Palacerigg, and at the 1851-1881 censuses they lived about 200 yards away at a cottage called Dibside (or Dubside, depending on the source). They had at least 12 children: Robert (born c. 1829) Margaret (born c. 1831) Jean (born c. 1833, presume died in childhood) John (born c. 1833) Janet (born c. 1835) James (born c. 1838) William (born c. 1840, presume died in childhood) George (born c. 1843) Jean (born c. 1846) Agnes (born c. 1849) William (born c. 1853) Marion (born c. 1856) I am descended from Robert, who married Margaret LOVE in 1852 in Glasgow. If anyone else is descended from, or has any information about, any of William and Jean's other children, I'd love to hear from them. Gillian
