    3. Hello List If anyone has access to the monument inscription list of Old Kilpatrick could anyone check for any BAINS, STEWARTS, LANGS and BROCKS. A friend of mine and I hope to come to Dumbarton in Sept so any tips would be appreciated. We will probably visit Edinburgh registry office first. I quite a bit of info on my family so far but would like to find graves. Any help would be appreciated. We will probably find a b&b to stay in. How far is it from Dumbarton to Old Kilpatrick. Thanks Jean from snowy Alberta Canada

    3. Hi Jean There is a cemetery in Old Kilpatrick and one in Clydebank also one in Dumbarton. If you have the dates of death you can phone 01389737000 and ask for Clydebank cemetery department. This is the council offices and they keep all the records, but as far as I know you must have a date of death. 3. Hi Jean, I have Stewarts from the same area. My ggrandmother was known by many names, Esther/Hessay/Hessie Finlay who married a John Stewart. My ggrandmother was much younger than John Stewart and they had only 1 daughter before he died, Lavina Stewart. My ggrandmother then had my grandmother with another man...who is my brickwall, Henry McMonigal. My ggrandmother lived in Old Kilpatrick (OK) and Duntocher. Any of these Stewarts fit with your family? Hope you have a great trip. It is not far from the town of Dumbarton to OK....probably a 15 minute drive. 3. Hi Elaine I apologize for not answering sonner but this is my daughter's computer not mine so I have to get over and answer the query's. My great grandparents were Willim Stewart who married Catherine Lang in 1855 and they immigrated to Canada in 1863. On the 1841 census there is a John Stewart who is 20 years old living with my gr gr grandmother so possibly he is your John. His father was Charles Stewart and his mother is Jean Lindsay. There is also on the census Jean Stewart 50, Charles 20, John 20, Euphemia 14 and William my gr grandfather 11. Their ages were rounded to the nearest five years. I need check my info and will e-mail again. I didn't know if I should e-mail your home or the Dunbarton list. Take care Jean ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine Fenner" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 11, 2007 10:41 PM Subject: Re: [DUNB] Query > Hi Jean, I have Stewarts from the same area.
