    3. Hello Frank I see you are researching CHALMERS and NIVEN and wonder if there may be a connection. I have John CHALMERS and Margaret NIVEN who married on 28 June 1791 at Roseneath. Their children are proving very elusive. One was my gggrandmother Christian (from her marriage entry in Row OPR 1939 to Duncan McCALLUM) or Christian Mary (from her death certificate in Helensburgh in 1874 - registered by a cousin John CHALMERS of Helensburgh). She was born about 1804/6. Another was Margaret, married 1829 Row to Alexander McAuslan, and a possible third was Catherine born c 1794, died 1864 married to Robert McKinlay. I have no information on parents of John Chalmers and Margaret Niven but noticed that there are quite a lot of Chalmers people in Roseneath 1750 on. Hope to hear from you if you can shed any light on my Chalmers/Niven etc connections.
