I would like to hear from anyone with an interest in these families or any list member who could provide me with furhter information. James SHAW who married Elizabeth BUCHANAN 1776/8 Cumbernauld? They had five children, one of whom George SHAW married Mary WATSON in Cumbernauld in 1810. They had eight children, one of whom James SHAW married Christina CUNNINGHAM in 1857 in Cumbernauld. They had six children. This SHAW family ran the Post Office in Cumbernauld until the mid 1900s. I have more details if anyone is interested. I would also like to know if there is any way of finding out more about the Post Office. I have looked at the new Cumbernauld web-site but did not find any info about it there.
