Hi Lesley, We may very well have a connection, but it is too son to tell. Our earliest proven McFarlane to date is Daniel McFarlane - we don't have his birthdate yet, but he married Margaret McNabb November 16, 1839, in Cardross, Dunbarton. His son, John McFarlane, born May 08, 1852, was living in Helensborough when he married Ann McLeod in 1873. And, of course, Luss also shows up in our records. We will keep an eye out for your Martha and Margaret and hope that you will do the same for us.
