Hello Sharman I can't see a match at present. I have very little information on my MacFarlane ancestors from this period but the parishes they seem to be connected to in the 1760-1785 period are (1) Dumbarton and (2) New Kilpatrick, both in Dunbartonshire. My ancestors (not connected to each other as far as I know) are: (1)William McFarlane/McFarland and wife Christina/Christian McKinlay - children William c 1767/8 Dumbarton and Martha cJune 1764 Dumbarton - Martha (my ancestor) married John Greenhill from Paisley in 1788 (IGI lists dates of 24 May 1788 at Middle Church Paisley and 31 May 1788 at Dumbarton - presumably banns) and had 10 children, all born in Paisley, Renfrewshire: John 12 October 1789, William c26 June 1791(died young?), William c5 February1794, Christian c20 August 1795 & c19 August 1797 (may be the same child with error in IGI or first child may have died young) Janet c25 July 1797, James (my ancestor) c11August 1799, Jane c 16 June 1801, Alexander c24 April 1805 and Walter c6 August 1811. (2) Margaret MacFarlane/McFarlane - married 29 December 1780 (if I have the right marriage record from the IGI) at New Kilpatrick to Donald McCallum - children (those marked ? I am not sure of) John? 1782 New Kilpatrick, Daniel? 1789 New Kilpatrick, Janet 1789 Luss, Peter 1791-1872 Luss, Parlan 1793-1870 Luss, Catherine 1796 Luss, Duncan 1798 Luss (my gggrandfather) Isobel 1799 Luss, Donald 1800 Luss, Janet 1803 Luss, and Agnes 1808 Row. I have no information on parents, borthplace or date or siblings for Margaret. Can you see any connection with your family?
