Through my earlier stupidity I thought I was looking for an alphabetical list rather than consider the possibilities that the family name I typed in the search field might be a daughter who had married. Maybe this experience will help others. Its a Register of Testaments so perhaps someone can explain why this would be. Present legislation requires a maiden female to alter her will on marriage, or, to put it another way, a marriage revokes a former Will in the case of both parties. Is the reference to "Stainhous" or "Stainhouse" the present day Stenhouse Muir? Bearing in mind the WALKER interest in another thread perhaps others will be, in this. Janet
