Excellent. I wonder if I could find my Hugh/Ewan McGregor/MacGregor there? He must have died 1853 to 1854 since he does not appear anywhere in a 1855 to 1857 death record when they started the new registration in Scotland. I got the date of death narrowed down to 1853 to 1857 by the bracket of the birth of his last child, Christina McGregor, in 1854 and the remarriage of his widow, Agnes Cross, in 1857. I have found his marriage record 1847 in Glasgow, and in the 1850 Glasgow census he said he was born in Helensburgh (Row or Rho Parish?) 1827. I cannot find his birth record, but I did find some McGregors living in Bonhill at that time having other children. BTW, I do have a copy of Agnes's death record 1905 in Stirling. She was widowed 3 times, Hugh McGregor being her second husband. My cousin from California is going to Scotland this fall on a research trip, so any direction as to where to look will be welcome.
