I'm researching Alexander Harvey Lindsay b. 1850 in Dundee d. 1 Jan 1924 in Alexandria. He married Margaret Cunningham Hay 16 Dec 1875 in Glasgow. He was the Inspector of Poor for the Bonhill Parish in Alexandria. He started his career as Inspector of Poor in the Breehin Parish of Dundee then transferred to the same position in the Barony Parish of Glasgow. After his marriage to Margaret, he worked in the Bonhill Parish in Alexandria. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with the Lindsay family in Alexandria. I'm interested in any records relating to Alexander's occupation. I'm told when he was in Glasgow he was the authority on the "Law of Settlement". The information I have so far are vital and census records. Thank you
