Author: helendelilla Surnames: Morison/Knox/Millar Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.dnb.general/836.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Lindsay, Very recently I've found more connecting my research on the Paul family to the Knox, Millar and Morison families of Old Kilpatrick. To confirm this connection I have found a number of OPR birth, marriage & death records with Morisons as informants, witnesses etc. I've created a Word document itemizing the Morison family of Old Kilpatrick that I could be connected to, but can't attach it to this bulletin board. Please email me so I can send it to you as I am hoping that you may find something that 'rings bells' with your Morisons. This it the family that immigrated from Cumbernauld, Dunbartshire, Scotland to the U.S. in 1869 and 1871, etc. These were the descendants of Matthew Blair and Marion (Liddell) Blair. We are definitely of the same family, and I would like to share our info. Sue Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Tamara, On Archibald's marriage bann he is listed as a weaver. You're lucky it even says that. Scottish OPR records have little information in them. What is available online are births and marriages only. Now, where did they go who knows, the closest available census is 1841 and I see no Archibald (either sr. or junior), or any of the other children in the FreeCen version which is hardly complete or accurate. That being said the girls would have long been married by 1841. There are number of Archibald's we were married perhaps their son is one of them which would likely mean you will have to visit Scot's People and see if any of these are yours http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ but again you'll be lucky if they tell you what they did and the chances of finding out who their parents were is slim to none. 03/05/1821 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD CECILIA BROWN/ M Kilbride (Bute) /BUTE 553/ 0020 0062 14/11/1824 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD MARGARET SCOTT/FR1914 M Lanark /LANARK 648/ 0060 0422 07/08/1825 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD ANN ANDERSON/FR6758 M Glasgow GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/001 0400 0358 15/04/1830 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD ELIZABETH FINDLAY/FR2752 M Abbey /RENFREW 559/ 0080 0228 03/04/1830 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD ELISABETH FINDLAY/FR1172 M Paisley Burgh or Low /RENFREW 573/003 0050 0283 12/07/1833 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD JANET FIFE/FR4393 M Barony GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 622/ 0170 0075 15/06/1835 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD MARY STORIE/FR1390 M St Cuthbert's EDINBURGH CITY/MIDLOTHIAN 685/002 0430 0289 04/12/1835 DAVIDSON ARCHIBALD ANN HUNTER/FR459 M Ardrossan /AYR 576/ 0020 0180 Or you can search for the children's death registrations which became mandatory in 1855. Sorry I can't be more helpful although if I were in your shoes I'd be chasing Harriet's death registration if you haven't already and work back from there. Cheers!!! Hello everyone, I was wondering whether anyone had access to parish records for Dumbarton? I'm trying to find out more information about a couple who were having children there. Their names were: ARCHIBALD DAVIDSON who married MARGARET MCFARLANE in 1801. They had children there in 1802, 1804 and 1806 (from IGI). I was wondering if there may be any other information in the entries to suggest Archibald had been in the Navy/Army at all and if they 'disappeared' from the records there or were buried there. The reason why I'm trying to discover this is because I'm trying to figure out if they were my ancestors, the parents of HARRIET DAVISON who was christened in Canterbury Kent in 1811. Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Tamara (Australia) ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DUNBARTONSHIRE-GENWEB-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi MAribeth This is a surprise. Several of the names mentioned, particularly those connected to Duncan McFarlane below are my relations. My great grandmother was Agnes Smith McFarlane b. 1834, sister of Duncan. I have noted that Agnes and Christina moved to USA and I never managed to research beyond that point. I would love to share information with you, Cathy Dowie nee McFarlane in New Zealand On 17/01/2009, at 1:42 PM, MEMcNaull@aol.com wrote: > Hi Jay, > I'm looking for the following ancestors.
