Margaret Watson married Robert Rowat in Paisly 1850. Robert was a shawl manufacturer. It was his son, Dewar, (named after his Grandfather, Dewar Watson} it was Dewar Rowat that started the pickle/sauce outfit, Rowat and co. and ran it till his death in 1931. His Mother, Margaret died in 1903. Father, Robert in 1897. Have records on some of the oher children as well. I had a look at some of my trade directories from Glasgow. Alexander, the Wire manufacturer, was in busines a long time and there is an nteresting advert for the company in the 1894 directory. They were based in the Candleriggs, before moving to Watson St.(pic atached)I don't have any family records for Alexander, but could find out about the company, if it is of any interest to you. I have of course already traced the line back this far to be able to give the information I have. Are you related? You have not listed Edward b 14 March 1836. I know that Edward's parents were Edward Chesters and Mary Duncan, but the problem as you probably understand is in the records in Ireland. We simply dont know if the CHESTERS family originated in Ireland, went there for work, or maybe sent there. It is my paternal ancestry. Ellen who married Hugh was born in Dublin.
