    2. A McGregor
    3. Hi All, I have compiled a DataBase of Scottish Parishes with their Parish numbers and IGI Batch numbers. This list being a DataBase can be converted from Alphabetical to Numerical making it most useful when only name or number is known. It can also be altered and added too. Please advise by DIRECT email to: <aamcgreg@es.co.nz> with the DataBase program you have installed. eg. MicroSoft Works 95/98. MicroSoft Excel. MicroSoft Access Lotus Approach. Any other. This ParishNo.Data will need to be unzipped with Winzip/PKunzip/Netzip or similar. Arthur McGREGOR Dunedin New Zealand.

    1. Alexander Campbell
    2. Mary Ann McCrea
    3. I need a census look up for Alexander Campbell in 1991, he would have been 4 or 5 years old, at least one girl in family Jean age unknown, possibly an Iain and a Robert. I have a cousin who sent for his birth certificate but they found none. I beleive that was because we thought parents were Alexander Campbell and Jane or Jean Gilmour but I beleive they may have been his grandparents. Father could have been Robert. I know from his Canadian National Defense Pass that his birth date was Nov 14 1884. If any one has any death information around 1993-97 on Campbell's in area of Dumbartonshire or where I could retrieve such info. ie books , family histories, etc. I am at a loss as to where to search next. Mary Ann

    3. Thanks to all who replied to my query on the site for Commonwealth and Allied servicemen - but still looking. It's not the Commonwealth War Graves Commission or the Aust. War Memorial site as they both only deal with servicemen who died in the wars, and the one I found and lost is searchable for all servicemen (including survivors). Anyone ?? or am I imagining I was ever there ! Regards from a hopeful Vicki

    3. Hi folks, Hoping someone can help a dill who forgot to bookmark a really good site ! I found a couple of uncles on the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour site, then went looking for other similar sites. Found one that listed all Commonwealth and Allied servicemen in both World Wars (I think) definately WW1. I am pretty sure it was a UK site. You can do an online name search of their database. I have searched for the last two nights with no success - does anyone have any idea where it is?? Waiting with bated breath :-)) Thanks Vicki Simpson simpson@ircnet.com.au

    3. I am reposting this as I think I forgot to send it in plain text last time - can anyone out there help me - Please ! I hope I am on the right list ! Is there anyone out there researching the name ELTON? My gg-grandfather Arthur ELTON (probably born about 1815'ish) married Mary MARSHALL (about 1817) on 14 December, 1838. Their son Arthur ELTON (about 1849 - 1911) emigrated to Australia sometime before 1876 as that is the year he married in Victoria. I can find no record of his parents in Australian records so he must have come on his own. My Aunt said he came from Coatbridge and Dad found an elderly Aunt in Rutherglen who had done the family tree but Mum can't find it - Help Thanks in advance Vicki Elton Simpson simpson@ircnet.com.au

    1. Buchanan Family of Dunbartonshire
    2. Sarah Meagher
    3. Hi everyone! Does anybody out there have any information on the Buchanan family of Dunbartonshire in the 1500s? Specifically, the latest of my ancestors I can trace to is Robert Buchanan, 1st of Blairhennachra, who was born c. 1537, and married Janet Danzelstoun c. 1562. Robert was born at Tullichewan, Bohnill, Dumbartonshire, Scotland. My line then goes through Robert's son Mungo, his son Robert, his son Mungo, his son Mungo, to his son George Buchanan who came to America in 1723. I'd appreciate any information anybody has on this family. Also, any information on their home at Tullichewan, which I'm told is a Castle. (Also, if anyone can help me out, what does it mean by "1st of Blairhennachra"?) Thanks a bunch! Sarah Meagher :-) Maryland, USA

    3. I'm trying to find some information on my great grandfather John Wyse. I have no dates for him and I'm not sure where he was born. I know that he was sloopmaster and in 1853 when my grandfather was born (Thomas Mair Wyse) he was living in Bowling in Dunbartonshire. He was married to Jane Mair. I'd like to find out more about him and also if there were more children than just my grandfather. If anyone recognizes the name please let me know. Beryl w. Beryl
