    3. Hello T Thanks for the offer about 1841 census for Row etc. Could you look for any John or James Chalmers (any age) in Row or Roseneath parishes. I am trying to track down some of each of this name connected to my gggrandmother Christian Chalmers (married D McCallum prior to the 1841 census). I have the McCallum details from when I had the film out some years back but am now filling in details of siblings, cousins etc. Christian's father was John Chalmers, mother Margaret Niven. Christian's death in early 1870s was registered by a cousin James Chalmers. I also need details of the family of Christian's sister Margaret and her spouse Alexander McAuslan, married some time in the 1830s and probably somewhere in Row parish, probably on a farm. Their daughter Christian later married a McLachlan and had a farm near Shandon (1880s and 1890s) I hope this is enough information. Thanks again for the offer. 3. Hi....greetings from Australia.. I am looking for details on an ancestor. She originally was born in Tradeston, Glasgow Sept. 20th 1866...her parents werre..John Wilkie Innes, and Ellen Napier Young. Her mother died in 1876( 42 yrs old)...and her father and only brother came to Australia. John to West Australia, and Charles Napier Innes(her brother ) to Adelaide..South Australia..(my G Grandfather). I have just looked at the 1881 Census and see that on that day...Ellen and her younger Sister..Annie Young Innes(who died in 1886)...were at the home of an Aunt..Elizabeth C Young (actually..her mother's sister).. Ellen was 14 at the time. I am trying to find out when and if she married?? I have been onto the Internet and paid with my Visa..for details of a marriage./death record...but NOTHING!! Can anyone help me??? I will in turn be willing to look up any information in Australia if a kind person wants any assistance. I REALLY have hit a brick wall...and it is not worth wasting money on my credit card everytime I register to make an enquiry. I would like something for the money I have wasted. in my searches. Thank you for your time.. Regards.. Di Hayden (Melbourne..).

    1. 1841 Census for Row
    2. A E Hughes
    3. Hi T! I'm sending this to the list on the off chance that someone else out there is researching the same line as I am. This is my request: I have a Catherine Campbell born 5 or 15 December 1786. Family legend tells us that she is the daughter of the Campbell laird who built his "castle" at Roseneath. She is said to have married in the Kirk of Rhu ... in other words at a church in Row. We DO know: She married Donald (also known as Daniel) White (sometimes spelled Whyte); he was born in 1754, I believe. I would be interested in knowing if there are any White/Whyte folk or Campbell lairds in the census. I am interested in trying to locate the parents and families of these two; Catherine and Daniel are my g-g-g-g-Grandparents. Thank you very much for your kind offer of doing look-ups. I appreciate any info you might be able to provide and I thank you for your time. Regards, Amy

    3. Hi all, I'm trying to find out moe info on my Great Great Grandfather James Gillan who must have been born around 1840-45, was married in 1867. He was an Engine Fitter and according to family stories worked in a place building locomotives. There is some reference to a man called McLorimer and also to a place called "Dubsies" in Govanhill. Does anyone have anything that may bear relation to this tale? Thanks, Brian.

    3. Hi All, Just a reminder. If you are going to be away for an extended period (more than several days) and it would be advisable to temporarily unsubscribe from the the mailing list. This time of year there are a lot of bounced messages due to subscriber's mailboxes being full. This puts an extra load on the Rootsweb servers. If you are concerned that you may miss something just remember that messages in these lists are generally archived and can be searched using various criteria. So the info will be there when you return. When you return you can subscribe to the list again and carry on where you left off. 1. MURRAY; SCT; 1860-
    2. Greetings: I just joined this list a short time ago and am searching for the information on the following: Donald Murray of Renton, Dunbarton-Cardross. He worked as a manager at the Dye Works and had four sons - Hugh, John, Archie and Donald. Young Donald was killed about 1943 in the war. Donald Sr received a Purple Heart Medal from the United States for his son. Donald's sister Margaret married William Cunningham and had James, Effie and John. Effie married Mr MacFarland and had a daughter named Margaret who married William McLean and had twins John and Margaret and one other Anne. Donald's sons I was told moved away - possibly to the Manchester, England area. Donald is supposed to have died around 1960 and would have been in his 90's at that time. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. Heather Murray, Canada hmurray3@home.com

This was listed after #183 and #184 McKean Marker. I really have no information on them. Can't find them listed except a possibility that she was John McKean's sister as he was born Jan. 6, 1768 and died June 2, 1840 , age 72 and buried in # 183 Probably no help to you but might be a connection somewhere.
