I have Chalmers connections in Roseneath and Helensburgh (Row parish) around 1800 and am trying to find out more about them. I have John Chalmers who married Margaret Niven in Roseneath in 1791 and had possibly three daughters although I have not found birth /baptism records for them yet - information from later marriage, death, census etc records. The daughters are Christian (or Christian Mary) born c 1804/6 (my ancestor - married Duncan McCallum in Helensburgh, died 1874, death registered by cousin John Chalmers of Helensburgh (haven't been able to find John in 1871 or 1881 census), Margaret, married 1829 Row to Alex. McAuslan - (large family), and Catherine , married Robert McKinlay, died August 1864 aged 70. Any information on any of these or any of their descendants? Where there any other children of John Chalmers and Margaret Niven? Any information on their parents, siblings etc? Lesley Instone Invercargill New Zealand
