Hello Mary Your Duncanson family didn't have anyone who emigrated to NZ before WWI by any chance? One of my grandmother's sisters, Isobel Mary GILLANDERS (born Inverness, emigrated to NZ with parents and siblings 1908) married a Duncanson in NZ and I have details of their descendants if you are interested. Hello Isla and list I have at lease one Christina or Christian McCallum in my McCallum family in Luss (1780s-early 1800s) and later in Helensburgh (Row or Rhu parish). I don't know whether any of my Christian/Christina McCallums married a MacDonald but please get back if you think your family may have a connection to the Helensburgh area in the 1830s and I will check my notes. Have you found your family in the 1841 census to see whether Christina was still alive at that time? Hi It's me again, I forgot to mention that I didn't know there was an 1861 census so it's never been checked either. Beryl Beryl Graham b.d.graham@sympatico.ca
Hi Barbara, I'm sorry but I didn't realize that I'd sent it to you personally. I'm looking for a birth date for my great grandfather John Wyse, or any information on him at all. I know he was married in Uphall West Lothian in 1844 and he was living in Bowling in 1853, he was a sloopmaster at that time. I never had the 1841 census checked, someone did look on the 1881 census but couldn't find him. His wifes name was Jane Mair but she died in 1855. Any help out there? Thank you. Beryl Beryl Graham b.d.graham@sympatico.ca

Hi Listers: Another family I am researching in Dunbartonshire STODDART Robert STODDART (died in Dumbarton 1856) and Elizabeth PATERSON were married 1895 in Dalkeith, Midlothian. They had 11 children: James born 1796 Temple Midlothian, George 1801, Henry 1803, Ann 1805, Ann 1897, Janet 1809, Grizel (known as Grace I believe) b. 1811, Elizabeth Paterson b. 1842, Walter b. 1814 Maria b. 1816 and Robert b. 1821 all in Gargunnock, Sterlingshire. This family disappeared and I found Henry later in Cardross, Dumbarton. He married first Jean BERRY in 1832 and had one daughter, Grace who died in 1834 (no birth record) Jean also died. Henry then married Jane Young in 1836 and they apparently had five children AGNES STODDART b. 1836 in Cardross, who married Andrew PAUL 1859 and they had six children, Matthew b. 1860, Henry Stoddart b.1862, Jane Young b. 1864, Mary White b. 1866, James Paul b. 1868, Harriet Hope Taylor b. 1871, Bessie Paul b. 1873, Agnes Stoddart b. 1877 all in Dumbarton. Agnes was the only child to survive. ROBERT STODDART b. 1838 and died 1845 in Dumbarton TWIN BOYS no birth date, died 1841 in Dumbarton JOHN DIXON STODDART b. 1842 and died 1847 GRACE STODDART b. 1811.married John Storer BLYTH 1839 in Airth Sterlingshire. they had seven children all born in Airth. This family moved to Gasgow after the death of John Storer. WALTER STODDART b. 1814 married Margaret BABTIE in 1849 in Dumbarton. I believe that Margaret's parents were also from Sterlingshire. Water and Margaret had four daughters, Margaret Taylor, Elizabeth Paterson, Lucy and Aice Jane. All born in Glasgow. >From the research I have done, I believe that part of the STODDART family moved to Dumbartonshire prior to 1832. Grace must have stayed behind, possibly in service some where, as she was married there in 1833. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated, and I would be willing to share information.
