Hello Listers. Is there anyone who could put me on the path to finding my ggf who ran away to sea from a Scottish port, (probably on the Clyde) at age 14 in 1859 or soon thereafter by stowing away or joining the crew? I suspect that he was born illegitimately as DUFF, but changed his name to MACDUFFsomewhere along the way to New Zealand. Kind regards, from New Zealand, mail to:ray.christmas@inspire.net.nz

Hamilton Robb married Harriet Louise Colquhoun in 1857 they had a son Archibald Colquhoun Robb, I wonder if this could be any relation to your Archibald Colquhoun.Hamilton's elder brother William Brodie Robb emigrated to New Zealand in 1862. William's second marriage was to Martha Neill. Martha had a sister Mary Ann Neill who married John Carmichael, who also emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand.
