His son Peter born 1842 in Condurrat. Isaac died before 1895, as did his wife Christina Young. In addition to Peter, they had Isaac Jr and Thomas, and possibly a daughter named Margaret. They were married in April 1836 in Condurrat. Other than Peter and his descendants, I have reached a dead end with this family. Does anyone know Isaac or his children or parents?
Hi Elaine: I think that the Civil Registration Index that is held by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints goes past the date of 1907 (not sure). You could phone your local Library and ask them if they have it. If not, go to Scots Origin on line - it will cost you money - but you would locate it there. Hope this has been of some help. I'm seeking information on the following Stewart family, and would be delighted to hear from anyone doing related research. (I have used the spelling of Stewart/Stuart/Steuart as used on the birth or christening record.) Claud Stewart christened 20 May 1722 Old Kilpatrick married Janet McRab in Glasgow, Lanark, (Old Kilpatrick records 2 Jun 1747) Janet Stewart born 21 Feb 1749, Glasgow, She married Walter Brock in Barnet, Vermont USA 1774, died 25 Jun 1797. Walter Stewart born 25 Aug 1751 Glasgow. They all voyaged to New York on the brigantine "Matty" and were among the first settlers of Barnet, Caledonia, Vermont in 1774. Claud's siblings: James Steuart christened 3 Jun 1716 Old Kilpatrick Dunbarton Janet Steuart christened 19 Jan 1718 " " " Walter Stewart christened 14 Feb 1720 " " " James Steuart christened 6 Sep 1724 " " " Elisabeth Steuart christened 16 Jan 1727 " " " Archibald Steuart christened April 1729 " " " Their parents: Walter Stuart christened 28 July 1689, married Elisabeth Lang 23 Aug 1715 All I know of their parentage is that Walter's parents are listed as James Stuart and Janet Lang.

I am looking of information on my g-g-g-grandfather William Black who married Isabella Stewart on 31 Dec 1833 in Neilston Parish Renfrew. William was born around 1804 and died between 1845 and 1851. His occupation was a Coal Miner. Isabella was christened 11 Oct 1802 in Ardnamurchan Argyll and died 22 Oct 1885 in Macks Land, Baillieston, Old Monkland, Lanark. As of this moment I know they had at least six children: Walter Black born about 1834 in New Kilpatrick, Dunbarton Hugh Black born 15 Jul 1836 in Campsie Stirling. Hugh married Agnes Teesdale on 12 Jun 1857 in Dalserf, Lanark. William Black born about 1838 in Campsie Stirling John Black born 28 Jun 1840 in Govan, Renfrew Alison Black born about 1843 in Shettleston, Lanark who married Robert Morton in 1859 and Alexander Munro in 1873. James Black born about 1845 in Shettleston, Lanark. Williams place of birth is unknown. However, according to the 1841 census he was not born in Lanarkshire, even though at the time he was working there. Any information on William Black or his descendants would be appreciated. ie. Birth, death, marriages, offsprings etc. Though the biggest part of my quest is in finding the parents and siblings of William Black. Harrold H. Black Jr hblackjr@cvzoom.net
I`ve looked over what everyone has sent me regarding Margaret in the 1881 census. There are a few possibilities but nothing positive. It may be as well that she hadn`t come over from Ireland yet. If at all possible could somebody just check to see if any of Daniel is the father of any of those Margarets. I realize i should`ve mentioned that yesterday but I didn`t realize I had her father. Thanks to everyone that responded, there are some helpful people on this list. Karen
