Barbara, Re your <I am sure there is a line of Dunbar's who were associated with the Duncan <Dunbar line (shipping magnate; family originated in Forres (sp?) Morayshire <Scotland)came to Australia. I would be interested to hear of your findings. As you use the word 'associated' I assume that you know there is no direct male link to Australia - the two sons of Duncan (senior) died unmarried. Duncan the millionaire ship owner died in London and his brother John died at Sea Park, Morayshire. 'Forres' is correct. The grandfather of shipping magnate Duncan was a farmer at Balnageith. There is now an airfield and housing at Balnageith within the boundaries of Forres. Pat Patrick. R. L. Dunbar Organiser, Dunbar Family Society, UK Member, Aberdeen & NE Scotland FHS.
