Like surnames, Y-DNA is passed down, virtually unchanged from father to son to son, century after century. Once a Dunbar has a DNA match, they can focus their traditional research with only those people they're genetically related to. You can participate in our Project if you know any living males with the Dunbar surname from your family line and get them tested. My Dunbar family dates back to the 1700's in Bucks County PA, moves on to NYC in the early 1800's and then to Ohio in the 1850's. We've remained in Ohio since. We have several Dunbar's who've submitted their pedigrees that might be of help to you. Please visit your Patriarchs page to find them: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/dunbar/pats I hope you'll join this very exciting Project. You can find out more information about DNA testing by visiting our website: www.dunbardna.org Or contact me at: dunbardna AT gmail.com Sincerely, Debra Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
