My Dunbar family was once held in slavery in Kentucky. Our elders have said since the 1800s that we were the family of Paul Laurence Dunbar and that we were taken from Kentucky to other areas of the south during slavery. Some of the elders of the family do resemble Paul Laurence. Any information anyone could pass along would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
