The Annual Christmas Promotion is going on at FamilyTreeDNA (the company who processes the test kits for the Dunbar DNA Project.) Also, Sponsorships are available in addition to the special pricing. There were 15 men who took advantage of the summer special. Now is a great time to think about giving a very valuable gift to your loved ones. The promotion has begun and runs through Dec. 31, 2009. There were 12 participants who made the trek to Scotland for the event. One came all the way from Australia. For those of you on Facebook, the Dunbar DNA Project now has a page and you can see pictures of this group of participants. The picture was taken at Dunbar Parish Church. 3. *** Mark your Calendar! - The next Dunbar DNA Gathering will be held April 16-18, 2010 at the Loch Norman Highland Games in Huntersville NC, just north of Charlotte NC. Everyone living on the East coast or surrounding states is invited to come. Follow this link to find out more about the Loch Norman Highland Games: http://www.ruralhillscottishfestivals.net/ Clan Dunbar members will be present along with the Clan Genealogist, Tom Dunbar. Tom is also Co-Administrator of our Project and has provided invaluable information and knowledge towards the understanding of the Dunbar surname and ancestry. It will be a great opportunity for you to ask about DNA testing and talk with others who've tested. 4. Our DNA Project now has 127 participants. A new development has occurred which is very exciting. It's been thought that the surname Barr might be a variation of the Dunbar surname. We now have 2 Barr participants that match with the Dunbars! What will you discover by participating in this very exciting Project?
