Waldinger, Elenor A. Waldinger Dunbar Elenor A. Waldinger Dunbar, 88, formerly of 5200 Henderson Rd., died Fri., Jan. 9, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born July 1, 1920 in Erie, daughter of the late Anthony G. and Agnes K. Baumann Waldinger. A lifelong resident of Erie, she graduated in 1938 from Academy High School. Mrs. Dunbar was a founding member of Our Lady of Peace and had been an active member of their PTA. She was more recently a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She also belonged to A.A.R.P., Catholic Golden Age and the Siebenbuerger Club; and was an avid Bingo enthusiast. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lionel A. Dunbar in 1992; a sister, Margaret Thomas; and a brother, Alfred Waldinger. Survivors include a son, Douglas A. Dunbar and wife Linda of Erie; a granddaughter, Erica M. Dunbar of Erie, a grandson, Ian S. Dunbar and wife Shannon of Erie; a step-grandson, Brooks Marzka of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Cameron Dunbar of Erie; a step-great-granddaughter, Sophia Marzka of Erie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. A parting prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1553 E. Grandview Blvd., celebrated by the Rev. Raymond W. Hahn. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
