December 31, 1799, City Gazette: Married, on Sunday evening last, by the Rev. I.C. Faber, Mr. WILLIAM DUNBAR, to Mrs. ELIZABTEH SIMONS, both of this city. June 27, 1801, City Gazette: CAUTION: Whereas the following Negro Slaves, to wit: Sam, Justice, Charles, and Sampson, all fellow under the age of 30; Hannah, a wench 25 or 26 years of age, with her two children; Juliet and Hannah, and old Hannah, 45 or 50 years old, all belonging to the estate of the late WILLIAM DUNBAR, Esq., deceased, were taken from the plantation on the night of the 26th of May last, by Thomas Galphin, of Steel Creek, in an illegal and unwarrantable manner, and without the colour of right to justify doing such an outrage on the rights of property, and are now detained by force of arms in his custody with a view it is supposed of sending them to Georgia; Now this is to caution all persons not to purchase any of said Negroes unless they wish to purchase a law suit, and be involved in litigation. The said WILLIAM DUNBAR, was a fair a bona fide purchaser of the said Negroes, and enjoyed peaceable and uninterrupted possession of them for upwards of twenty! years, in the knowledge of the said Thomas Galphin. January 15, 1817, City Gazette (SC): By Thomas Napier & Co; Pursuant to the LAST WILL and Testament of ELIZABETH DUNBAR, late of Charleston, widow, deceased, will be sold at the 'Four Miles House,' her late residence on Wednesday, the 22nd of January instant, a variety of household and kitchen furniture, two billiard tables, a four wheel carriage, a pair of carriage horses, a mule, six cows, and a cart, with a number of other articles too tedious to enumerate. [Also in January 1817, the sale of 18 slaves belonging to Mrs. Elizabeth Dunbar's estate were advertised.] March 27, 1817, City Gazette (SC): NOTICE: All persons having demands against the Estate of Mrs. ELIZABETH DUNBAR, late of the Four Mile House, are requested to render them in properly attested; and persons indebted to said estate will please settled the respective claims upon them. DANIEL COBIA, Qualified Executor, February 11. [December 12, 1818, Thomas and James LITLE (sic) advertised a reward for a slave runaway named DANIEL, formerly belonging to the estate of Mrs. Dunbar.] January 7, 1818, Carolina Gazette: SAW MILLS and LANDS for SALE: One tract of land, containing 1500 acres of good cotton and provision land, on which is an excellent saw and grist mill, with the privilege of all the pine timber growing within 2 miles; both the Mills nearly new and in good order; on a never failing stream and within three miles of the river; with oxen, timber-wheels, and all the implements belonging to the Mills, and tolerable good buildings for a family. ALSO; one other tract of land, adjoining the above, containing 3000 acres; on which there is also a good saw mill and grist mill; about one mile above the aforesaid Mills; the timber excellent and nearly inexhaustible; with a comfortable Dwelling House, on a healthy situation [etc.]; ALSO, one other tract of land containing 1700 acres (adjoining the last mentioned tract) of excellent cotton and provision land; with a comfortable dwelling house and all other necessary out buildings - all new. 200 acres o! f fresh cleared land, under prime fence, with good water and a healthy situation. All the above lands are lying on both sides of Stul Creek, a branch of the Savannah River, in the District of BANRWELL, SOUTH CAROLAIN. The whole will be sold together, or divided to suit purchasers. November 1, 1830, Charleston Courier: DEATHS - In Barnwell District, on the 25th ult., after an illness of 18 days, Mr. ROBERT DUNBAR, aged about 53 years.
