My parents own a farm in Deavertown (near McConnelsville, Ohio). They found an old deed in the house that mention Allen Black as the original owner. I do believe this is your grandfather. They found his marker at the church a mile down the road from their farm and sent me a picture. My father's maternal grandfather is a Black and we've been trying to trace back to see if and how Allen Black might be related to his ancestor. The male line is: Oatis Black (unknown dates) David Black (1795-1875: Bearfield, Perry County, Ohio) David P. Black (1833 -1907: Perry/Fairfield County, Ohio) Dewitt Clinton Black (1857-1932: Perry/Licking County, Ohio) Perry Oliver Black (1906-1967: Fairfield County, Ohio) I would just look at your tree, but I can't afford a subscription right now.
