These Dunbar sure are interesting. My Dunbar line comes to me via my gggrandmother Sophia who was born in l846 in Essex Co. New York married Hugh Roblee and then Lewis Cleveland. Her father was Ralph Russell and her mother Keziah Dunbar. Her father was (I believe) Appolos Dunbar b. Bristol Mass. in l789 and married Abigail Packard around l808. His father was John Dunbar married to Mary Keith,..then David and then Peter, ...the line goes back to Mayflower traveler, Richard Warren. Clan Dunbar has provided some great history, but my problem is Appollos who came to Johnsburg New York early l800s and at some point his daughter met and married Ralph who was about 25 years her senior. They ended up with l6 children, Sophia being one of them. Sophia is buried at North Creek, New York in the Union Cemetery as is her mother Kezia Dunbar Russell.
