    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: DebraNowell Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunbar/1193.1.1.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Don, So, "the daughter of Count de Chambaud", is actually the Major's 2nd wife? Am I reading your info correctly? This means both publications are wrong. It makes a person wonder about the original source of both publications. I can only get you back from the Major, not forward. So, all I have about the 6 children, from the 1st wife, is what's in the "Antiquity" publication. Hopefully, someone else following this thread can shed some light on the Major's first wife. Which son do you descend from; George, Joseph, or Peter? Plus, I'm going to send this thread to Tom Dunbar, the Clan Dunbar genealogist, to ask if he knows anything about a 1st wife. When I say we're Distant Cousin's, I mean that the Y-DNA says my father's Y-DNA genetically matches the Y-DNA of the Mochrum and Durn lines who descend from Gospatric. We just don't know where in that lineage we descend. BTW...my father's name is Donn Dunbar! You are very fortunate to have a paper trail leading back to Gospatric. Most of the 170 men in our Project don't. We are utilizing the Y-DNA from key Dunbars to help sort the men w/o paper trails to Gospatric into the House of Dunbar. Sponsorship funds are available should you be interested in having your specific branch of Dunbar represented in our Project. Our Sponsorship funds are donated by the DNA participants and Clan Dunbar. We've awarded over $4000.00 since 2006. Hope you'll join this very exciting project. You live closer than I do to New Hampshire. Many of your cousins will be there. We may even have a Dunbar competing in the Games!! It's been a very long time since Clan Dunbar held their Annual Meeting in the New England area and this may be the only opportunity for many years to come. Hope you can make it to Loon Mtn.
