Author: magdus86 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunbar/441.2.2.1.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, am new to this type of contact. Have been working on Patrick and Sedina Morrison Dunbar off and on. Have found them in Canada (west zorra, Ontario) then in Michigan. Patrick's death record is online. I have his birth in Ireland as 1843. Moved to michigan after the 1881 Canadian Census. Died in Michigan in 1905. Daughter Elizabeth in the 1930 census has an Aunt Bridget Monahan age 74 single living with her in Port Huron. Have not been able to come up with a marriage license in Ontario forPatrick and Sedina(circa 1870). Have found Pat and Patric Dunbars in the 1871 and 1861 Canadian census records that appear to match. in the 1900 US census it was indicated that patrick immigrated to the us in 1888 and was naturalized. Have not checked out the naturalization papers. Birth records for most of his children are in the ontario online birth registrations. One family tradition gives his origin as Dublin. He may have switched from catholic to protestant as the 1871 can! adian census lists him as Irish/Catholic and the 1881 census records say Protestant. Don't know if any of this helps anyone.
