Muff, I am in awe that you have contact with TMSA - if they, or any of the acquaintances can help - it would be a huge break in the brick wall that I've been hammering at for years. Thank you Dan for the google sites for "Hetherington + violin". I use the Web all the time for other people's questions - but never thought to apply it to my own. The results are fascinating! I will persue that. I am also in contact with David, who lives nearby in Ottawa, Ontario, and he has dates and records for Hetheringtons arriving in Canada c 1820. This list is just the best!
