Hi Margo: You do not seem to be getting any answers so I will give you an Auchenbedrig on which Irvings paid Hearth Tax in 1691 in the Parish of Middlebie in Dumfries. I really appreciate the help I have been getting on this quest!! I have gotten some responses off the list so I will share what we have discovered....! We are pretty sure now that Auchennaught was also spelled Auchennaight, Auchenknight and it is a farm due north of Penpont. I found the children that were named in the document christened in Auchennaight, Penpont Parish. So it appears that we have found the farm.
