This morning I received from scotlandspeople a copy of an extract in a OPR regarding thre marriage of my gt gt gt gt grandparents. While the other extracts n the page state that the groom was the lawful son of ........... the one refering to my ancestor said son to ....... . Please could anyone tell me if this would this mean he was illegitimate. If anyone is interested the other entries refered to the marriages of David Craik and Elizabeth Aitken, Robert McGuffock and Agnes Sloan and Thomas Charters and Margaret McNought.
