Does anyone know anything about a Quarry at Cairnville, Morrinton. One of my ancestors, Robert Alexander Geddes owned it and I`m trying to find some information about him. He was unmarried and died in 1943. He was the son of James Kerr GEDDES who was born Kirkcudbright, 1836. So far, I haven`t been able to discover the name of his mother. Don`t think he had any siblings. If anyone has a connection with the above I`d love to hear from you. Regards Sandra
Cairnvale was the quarry manager's house. The house is now in private ownership, but the quarry is still a working quarry. Morrinton is on the B729 between Dumfries and Dunscore.
