As Ella suggested Janat Gibson might be the sister of the first husband of Janat Carruthers..or even the wife of a brother of Mr Gibson..there being no indication of relationships or marital status in 1841. And of course they are not necessarily the same age since the ages of adults in 1841 was rounded down ..so one could be as young as 40 and the other about to turn 45 later in the year. Irene
