Thanks for the helpful responses to my query regarding 'Freemasons'. I'd forgotten how helpful this list can be after spending too much time on the Cumberland List,although there are some helpful people there too.I have emailed the Grand Lodge of Quebec which I found on Google and will give them time to respond before I push further. An extension to Ian's freemasons question. I have a number of Dumfrieshire relatives who are masons, listed as journeymen and "master" masons. My question is kind of out of ignorance. But would mid-victorian masons be freemasons like being in a union? So would I expect to find them in freemason archives? A rambling ill-thought out question I know :-( Cheers, Pam
