I have not found any Swallows at Cummertrees, though there was a branch at nearby Dornock (researched by Irene, for which thanks!). Has anyone come across any Swallows in Johnstonebridge around the 1850s? (This George Lawson Swallow spent his early youth at sea, then married in Newcastle on Tyne in 1871.) MI in Dornock Old Parish Churchyard: 68. In memory of George Swallow who died at Priestholm 25th February 1892 age 84. And Martha Crone his wife who died at Turnmuir 14th March 1899 age 78. Also John son of George Swallow in Dornock who died 2nd May 1850 in the 4th year of his age. Also Janet his daughter who died at Willowgrove 1st Sept 1863 age 10 months. And Martha his daughter who died at Willowgrove 4th Feb 1874 age 21. Also Jane Carlyle Swallow his daughter who died at Priestholm 26th April 1885 age 40. Also Matthew Crone Swallow their son who died 1st Dec 1937 age 71 interred in Cholsey churchyard. Also Jemima Swallow their daughter who died in Dornock 7th Dec 1948 age 87.
