You might find this fasinating, the British viewed the death of Loyalist (Colonel) Grierson in 1781 (date of death confirmed by the article) as an Assassination! A very rare find, and very timely too, since we now know him [James] to be the son of Thomas Grierson, Esq., of Larbreck Farm, parish of Irongray, near Dumfries, Scotland; could be, not sure yet, the son [Thomas] of Agnes McBurnie? ---------------------------------------- Sources: (1) The Times, Saturday, March 5th, 1864; page 1; Issue 24,812; column A. DEATHS.-- On the 29th February, at BATH, Louisa Grierson, relict of the late John Lilt [sp?], Esq., and granddaughter of the late (Royalist) Colonel Grierson, who was assassinated at Augusta, in Georgia, in 1781. ---------------------------------------- ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the WebMail system at mail.tqci.net --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by mail.tqci.net]
