I have recently been doing some McChlery research. My gg grandmother was Isabella McChlery born 1809, Stoneykirk and I have traces her line back to my gggggg grandparents James McChlery and Isabel Tarbert. I am now attempting to compile a one name study. So far I have some 500 - 600 names - all McChlerys or married to one. Initially I have concentrated on McChlery families originating in Wigtownshire but will extend coverage. Variations include McChlerie, McChery, McCherie, McCleary, McClearie, Chlery Clerie etc. Any information on the family from list members will be gratefully received. Ann
