    3. Researching my Thomsons of New Abbey, Lochrutton & Troqueer I found this one intriguing. Wm CARNOCHAN d Loshes Troqueer 5.11.1848 (90) w Margt THOMSON 6.5.1817 (70) da Agnes McLAUGHLAN 10.11.1853 (72) John CORSON d Jamaica 1814 (27) Stewart McLAUGHLAN d Millhill 23.3.1864 (50) Who is John CORSON ? Is it just a case of the stonemason mishearing Corson for Carnochan? I have only been working on my tree for about 6 months but have not yet come across such a difference in spelling. I presume that the earliest this MI could have been 'made' was 1848 after William's death, at which point cost would have prevented correction. Mathematically John could have been Agnes' younger brother. Any ideas? Further I have links to MIs 120,121,144 & 145. MI 109 could be one of mine, but I am checking it. If it is then I might have a link to MI 111. Anyone out there with similar connections in the Stewartry? David Thomson
