It is possible, I think, to make an appointment to be allowed access to the records at the Dumfries Registrars but it costs about 15 GBP an hour. The cheapest way to get the information is to employ searcher who visits Register House in Edinburgh to hand copy the records for you...... they usually charge about 3 or 3 GBPs per entry + of course the time it takes to find the right ones since you won't have reference numbers.
