Hi! I am new to the Dumfries-Galloway forum. I come from New Zealand, and my interest is in GLOVER and HAINING families from the Dumfries and Kirkudbrightshire area. My great-grandmother, Margaret Anne Glover, came out from Dumfries with her mother Jemima Glover (nee Haining) and three sisters in 1865 on board a ship called the Berar. Jemima had been married to a David Glover who died in May 1857. They had lived in Terregles. I am interested also in conditions around Dumfires and Galloway region in the mid-19th Century and early 19th Cent. Anyone who wants to correspond about this, welcome to reply.
