G'day , I have a George GRACIE was educated about 1815 at Wallace Hall, Closeburn, Dumfries, SCT. I gather that the school is now in the Closeburn Primary School but I wonder if there is a register or other document that lists pupils during the early part of the 19th century. There may have also been other brothers at the time. A secondary question is what sort of fees would have been required. Although his father died with an estate of only £118-15-7 he did have the ownership (lease) of two houses in Thornhill and "had seen better times".
