Hi everyone, Hope you are all well. I am struggling again, with a look-up for 1881. This time its RIDDLE (or RIDDELL), The story so far - Alexander RIDDLE and Mary KENNEDY had the following children: Anariah RIDDLE born 1863 Alexander RIDDLE born 16/8/1865 Jemima RIDDLE born 1868 Matilda RIDDLE born 1876 Rebecca RIDDLE born 1879 ALL IN DUMFRIES, DUMFRIESHIRE So far on 1881 census have found - Anariah married to John PILES with sisters Jemima, Matilda and Rebecca and their grandmother Jane KENNEDY. Have been unable to find parents or Alexander in Dumfries. How difficult is it to search the whole of the UK for these people? The lady at the library yesterday didn't help much, but think she kept picking the Lowlands CD all the time. She did find one Alexander, but he was the son of William RIDDELL. Can anyone please help me? I wouldn't have thought that Mary would have been that far away from home on census night, considering that Rebecca is only 2 years old. Take care Fiona Down Under
