    2. If you order the certificate from the General Register Office it will have the notation on the back. This happened for one that I ordered. The original certificate said: "Mary Ann Webster, Married to John Webster, Hotel Keeper; 1890 August Fourth, 3h 45m p.m.; female; 33 years; Father: John Innes, Farmer; Mother: Mary Innes, m.s. Wilson; Cause of Death: Gastritis, 4 days, Certified by George Clark, MB.CM; Informant: John Webster, Widower (present); Registered 1890 August 4th at Kirriemuir, Chas Samson Registrar.” and on the back was typed: “Register of Corrected Entries For The Parish Of Kirriemuir In The County Of Forfar. The following Report of result of a Precognition has been received touching the death of Mary Ann Innes or Webster registered under No 96 in the Register Book of Deaths for the year 1890:- Name, Occupation Age Sex & Condition: Mary Ann Innes or Webster, 33 years, Female, Married; When & Where Died: Between 2 and 3 p.m. on Monday 4 August last in the Newtown Hotel, Southmuir of Kirriemuir, Forfarshire; Parents’ Names: John Innes Farmer, Elizabeth Wilson or Innes; Cause of Death: Gastritis, Certified by Dr. Clark, Kirriemuir. Procurator Fiscal’s Office Forfar 21st February 1891, Certified by Alex Freeman, Dep. P.F.; 24th February 1891, at Kirriemuir, Chas. Samson, Regr.” I also got a similar thing for a marriage: The original: “ #2 1880. on the Thirtyfirst day of December at Inchture Church After Bans According to the Forms of the Church of Scotland; (Signed) James Jackson Jr., Carver and Gilder, Bachelor; age 27; usual residence: Perth; father: James Jackson, Carver & Gilder; mother: Catherine Jackson, m.s. Brown Deceased; (Signed) Cathrin D. Martin, Spinster; age 20; usual residence: Inchture; father: Alexander Martin, Journeyman Joiner; mother: Jessie Martin, m.s. Donald; officiating minister: (Signed) J.A. Honey D.D., Minister of Inchture; (Signed) Susan Robertson, Witness; (Signed) Thomas Jackson, Witness; registered 1881 January 3rd At Inchture; (Signed) W.C. Duncan, Assist. Registrar.” and on the back was typed: “Page 24. Register of Corrected Entries for the Parish of Inchture in the County of Perth. Register of Marriages for the Parish of Inchture, in the County of Perth for the year 1881. Entry No. 2. 8th March 1890. - Decree of Divorce was pronounced by Lord Wellwood, Ordinary, in an Action at the instance of Mrs. Catherine Martin Donald or Jackson, residing in Dundee against James Jackson Junr. some time Carver and Gilder, some time residing in Perth. The above insertion is made under the direction of the Registrar-General in terms of the 5th Section of the Act 18 Vict.C.29.
